Friends, something remarkable has happened... at least, I think it is remarkable. In recent days some folks who have been commenting here have decided to begin blogs of their own, about their experiences of being closeted. Please reach out and extend a welcome to:
Thoughts from a closet gay Christian "Hidden in Christ" is another woman in full time ministry who is in love with a woman.
A Lesbian Baptist Speaks "Closeted Baptist Lesbian" is a lifelong member of the Baptist church, out to only four people in the world.
Hoping and Searching "Hope", who began posting here as anonymous last week (I think) has a blogspace ready to go but with no posts. If you're reading this Hope... no pressure! But a community awaits you... all three of you. I am a witness.
Welcome, sisters, in the name of the beloved community of Jesus Christ, our risen and welcoming Lord.

i would just like to remind you of the incredible ministry you have darling cecilia by having this blog, giving voice to so many, helping others find their own. don't forget that when you get too down on yourself with guilt. ok?
I just left comments for both the two with active blogs.
To Hope I add my same words- prayers and peace to you! You are loved tenderly by God who invites you on this journey.
God bless you all. I am straight, but for whatever reason, a lot of my spiritual rebirth was in community with lesbians and gay men.
God made us all and with great love; let us walk together and always seek that same God with great love for him and for one another.
Found your blog via John Shuck. Glad he linked to you here!
thank you so much for the support! it is hard, but it's awesome to have some community here in the blog world! and no, it's not the same "hope" but my hope has found your blog! you are being used by God, my new friend! thanks again!
me and Hope are sitting here almost in tears as we read your previous blogs! wow. i love the story about how you told your son. powerful stuff. i am praying that God will open up a door for me to tell my family and close friends. i'm so thankful for your boldness!
question: how did you find a therapist who wasn't close-minded about homosexuality?
wow. like really. wow.
God is so great, so amazing. Look at all the light you are spreading around dear one. Yippee!!!
Thanks for the links. Cecilia, I know you help many, both straight and gay. You are a good friend to many and a great priest to others.
Thank-you so much for the support. It's good to know I'm not alone.
Thank you Cecilia...I finally had the courage to write the blog. It took forever and is terrifying for me, but will be therapeutic. This has opened me up more spiritually than I ever dreamed possible. Spirituality has all but alluded me as I carried my burden...but I feel something new stirring in me. Thank you and the community for helping me to realize that God does indeed love us all and we do not walk alone.
you rock, cecilia... really!
how did you find a therapist who wasn't close-minded about homosexuality?
Since the American Psychiatric and Psychological Associations have not considered homosexuality an illness since the early 1970s, I cannot even believe that question has to be asked in 2008!!! How long, oh Lord? How long?
HIC--Don't know where you are, but go to www.gayfriendlytherapists.com and you can search for what you need.
See what you've done, Cecilia? You've given hope to others and even given them a way to start finding their voices. You have answered your call to ministry, my friend.
Love,
Doxy
Cecilia, do you realize that last comment (posted at 10:39am) from http://tv-lcd.blogspot.com/ is commercial spam?
Don't post this. I just wanted to give you a heads-up, blogger to blogger, and don't have your e-address.
Thanks Lisa.., I think I clicked publish when I meant to click delete.
Pax, C.
We all watch out for each other, Cecilia. I seldom have insightful comments to add when I read your posts [and I do read them all), but am happy to help when I can.
Thanks for being there. You are making such a difference with what you do here.
Did you ever dream when you began this blog that it would turn into a ministry to those who are on the path with you, that you would be a comfort to the fearful, that your fear would not be the end?
Thank you for your witness to Christian hope, for your living of that hope, for your trust in the power of Godde to love us and all humanity, all creatures, and to help us minister where we are --and where we never dreamed we would go.
Blessings to you, Cecilia, in this season of Resurrection, and thanks be to Godde.
Wow...welcome to them all, and Cecilia, you rock for being She Who Provokes! Or something.
Off to read!
I am starting a web ring for LGBTQ Christians and our allies. It is called Christianity's Queer Side. There is a link to it on my blog if anyone would like to join.
