I share their sorrow. As a transplanted Californian, I'm ashamed of my native state but unsurprised. Californians want what they want, but payment is out of the question. Supreme court justices are elected and subject to recall, so very cowardly.

You'd think they'd never read JS Mill on "the tyranny of the majority."

I'm very grateful to be living in Vermont and anticipating our marriage this Oct.

I am also a transplanted Californian, I am sad for my state. How can so many people rejoice when so many grieve?

Hi C,
I'm dealing with lots of the fallout on my new blog, Gay Married Californian. I can't tell you how strange and awful it was on the 26th to be told "congratulations! You're still married!" Of course i'm relieved that my wife and I (one of the 18,000 couples) survived the decision, but it's so wrong....I feel like the one well-fed person in a crowd of the starving.
